Opening April 30, 2007 for lunch, cocktails, and dinner.
A native of Provence, George “Chef Mavro”
Mavrothalassitis created Cassis Honolulu as a tribute
to the straightforward cooking style and French bistro dishes of his youth, the everyday favorites you can return to again and
again – but with island flair.
“This restaurant is inspired by four places – Cassis,
Paris, Alsace and Honolulu People have always asked me to open a place for everyday dining. This is it!” says Chef Mavro, winner
of the James Beard award.
Overlooking Honolulu Harbor, the 295-seat casual, yet
sophisticated space designed by Mary Philpotts includes a wine bar, a private dining room for up to 50 people and will feature such dishes such as Grilled Dayboat Catch, Rotisserie Chicken with a plum wine sauce, a house-smoked Chinese Duck Salad with poached egg, pancetta and frisee, an American Kobe Beef Bavette with shallot sauce and curried fries, and the classic Tarte Tatin flavored with Li Hing Mui.
